This past weekend we had the honor and pleasure of attending the La Jolla Fashion Film Festival in San Diego, CA and it did not disappoint!. This being our first fashion and film festival that we’ve attended we really didn’t know what to expect but excited on seeing how the two would be combined into an event and being that I love film and fashion, I was excited to say the least. Beautiful people, dresses, suits, shoes and everything else amazing filled the red carpet on Friday and Saturday night. One of the biggest stars was “Gentleman Norman” an adorable Pomeranian puppy very reminiscent of the famous “Boo the Dog” that has long since captured the hearts of many animal lovers across the world.
Held at the Museum of Contemporary Art, there was an overflow of paintings and drawing that added to the elegant atmosphere of the evening. I personally took a tour of the artwork in the between time just so I could sneak some cool art that I’ve never seen but shhh! don’t tell anyone (laughs). We also got to check out films from one of my favorite people in fashion, Mr. Karl Lagerfield. I really appreciated the attention to detail he used in his films. His use of clothing, architecture and automobiles really set the scene for the most opulent and artistically cool stories that he tells.
Attending this event really opened my eyes to the who, what, where, and why in fashion film. You learn from watching why certain angles are used, why shots are presented in medium instead of close up, you understand atmosphere and how it can enhance the whole scene, you learn how to become, Great! Check out some of the cool photos we took from the weekend and stay tuned for our fashion film on the event coming real soon! We would also like to thank Ms. Cara Brown for the invite, we had a blast!
