Tristan Eaton has one of those styles you have to take a seat in the middle of the street to comprehend. On a Cartwheel Art Mural tour through DTLA, we happened to run into Tristan starting a new piece at The Container Yard, a hot spot for new murals and start-up business in the South L.A. Area. “How the %$#@ did this even start?” is usually the first thing to come out my mouth when I see his work. A friend and Professor at Azuza Pacific University, Jim Daichendt posed a question one day on social media that got us to thinking.. “How can you explain Tristan Eaton’s work?”.

I sat and thought about it for a minute because I ask my self this question all the time and still have not found the answer. And then it somehow hit me! It looks as if I have a remote and I’m channel surfing! Through a Mural! That discovery made the mural that much more DOPE!

The way Tristan’s graffiti style embarks on an attention deficit disorder spree invites the viewer to understand more is intriguing! You want to know why certain blends and colors were used and hell, maybe even try them yourself.
